The Stand Comedy Club
Established in 1995, the club runs two purpose built venues in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Both are open seven nights a week with a varied programme of contemporary comedy featuring the best Scottish and international comedians.
Started by a bunch of enthusiasts as a hobby, The Stand has now become a successful commercial company, but one that is true to its roots of developing new comedy in Scotland and giving audiences variety and value.
The Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow was established in 2000 and is located in the basement of an old secondary school in the West End of the city.
It runs live stand-up comedy shows every night of the week and a kids' show every Sunday afternoon. Every March the club is one of the main venues in the Magners Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
Many performers and critics reckon the Glasgow Stand to be one of the top ten comedy venues in the world - come and find out why.
