The Drake Bar and Restaurant

The Drake is a Gastro style pub with high emphasis on quality affordable food and drinks in a relaxed, "local feel" enviroment. With original bare brick work, coal fires, garden area to front and rear and a townhouse style restaurant and private dining space upstairs, what seems like a small basement bar offers much more than it first appears. With all major sporting events, weekend brunch and live music we always have something going on to suit all sorts. To top it off we are family and dog friendly.

'The appearance of another cultured bar in the Charing Cross area of the city gives hope to a stretch challenged by the rise of Argyle Street/Finnieston. For now it's laid-back appeal of the bare-brick, leather and bare wood bar in a semi-sub-terranean slot on the corner of Woodlands Road that's been gathering local cudos, with a beer garden, decent drinks and grown-up bar menu featuring the likes of homemade terrines and cottage pie. Soon to come is a more ambitious restaurant area (open Thu-Sat evenings) on the floor above the pub, serving mostly blackboard specials' The List.
